Does it feel as though your pain is in the tendon or in the joint itself?
if there is pain in the tendon, it will be in the achilles tendon (see image) and you will be able to palpate/touch the painful area. If it is in the joint itself, it will feel deeper in the joint and you will be unable to touch it
